Worthy Brother Knights,My name is Dan Gilliam, and I'm the State Community Director for the Knights ofColumbus, New Jersey. I am truly honored to be able to chair this position, and I’m looking forward to working with all of you.
Programs are truly essential in all that the Knight of Columbus does, from raising money for a cause, providing for the needy, and being there for the Church. One of my most prominent proponents is for the Council to be as active as possible; the more you do, the more you gain, and all the programs offered here help you do that. Supreme and State have rapidly expanded programs that engage officers and councils with their communities. Community programs are vital for improving your council's strength, individuals' lives, and long-term effects on the community. As many of us Knights know, the needs of our community are even more significant than ever before, and the programs we offer, whether in Life, Community, Faith, and Family, allow us to engage our community with so many options.I ask all councils to evaluate their past engagements and ask themselves if we are doing enough and whether they are we making a difference with what we do. These are essential questions when building a successful council.
I challenge you to look through all the programs offered, find ones that fit your goals, and engage the
community with all you can offer. All will significantly notice the rewards of your effort. I wish you well
as you move forward and always stay Knight Strong.

Our Soccer Challenge will be here before you know it. Hope you are all making plans to hold your Council competition.
Get stated by ordering the Soccer Challenge kit (SC – KIT). A copy of the Soccer Challenge Playbook is attached by CLICKING HERE.

We have aggressive program timing, and it is very critical that we hit these target dates.
Council - Target no later than end of September
District – Target no later than mid-October - TBD by District Deputy
Regional - Target no later than end of October – TBD by Regional Coordinator
State Final - Target early to mid-November – TBD by State Chairman
The key to a successful program is to COORDINATE & COMMUNICATION. Our team is fully engaged with the program and timeline. A must do as a Council leader is to contact your District Deputy with your soccer challenge details and contact your regional coordinator listed with the same. This will ensure transparency of the activities. This clearly signals that we are all on the same page and have a smooth Soccer Challenge.
This year our goal is to have participants from all regions and winners in all age groups in the finals. The team and I look forward to an OUTSTANDING 2024 Soccer Challenge and most importantly let’s make sure our little soccer stars have FUN!!
